Friends Of
Stevenson Community Library has deep roots in the Columbia River Gorge and serves residents of both Stevenson and North Bonneville as a shared community hub. The library offers an art gallery, EV charging stations, meeting rooms, technology access, and a full slate of programs — including family storytimes, tech help sessions, teen hangouts, and creative showcases like the popular Artist of the Gorge Show.
The smaller branch of North Bonneville Community Library serves Skamania County’s North Bonneville area and provides vital access to books and technology close to home. It functions as an important community touchpoint in a rural area, right in the heart of town.
And the Skamania County Bookmobile is a critical resource for our rural residents engaging them with new materials and internet access in remote locations.
Friends of Stevenson and North Bonneville Community Libraries has long championed these shared resources by organizing fundraisers that help both communities continue to enjoy strong library service in the Gorge.

We support many library events, as well as host our own events inside and outside the library. During the summer months you can find us selling homemade chutney and friendship rice, and in the fall we partner with the library on Artists of the Gorge.

Patrons are encouraged to buy used books to support the Friends all hours the Stevenson library is open. We have shelves upstairs at the front entrance and downstairs by the restrooms. We accept cash, check and credit cards via a secure QR code using your personal cell phone.

Friends of Stevenson and North Bonneville Community Libraries meetings are open to anyone who cares about our library. Check the FVRL events calendar for our next meeting date, time, and location — we’d love to see you there.

Friends of Stevenson and North Bonneville Community Libraries raises money that goes directly back into the Stevenson and North Bonneville Community Libraries, funding the extras that the library district’s budget can’t always cover. Recent and ongoing support includes:
Friends of Stevenson and North Bonneville Community Libraries is an all-volunteer nonprofit made up of neighbors who care about Skamania County public libraries and want to see it thrive. Our board and members are local residents — book lovers, retirees, parents, and longtime patrons — who volunteer their time to raise funds, and advocate for the library’s needs.
We’re proud to be part of something bigger: a Friends of the Library group supports every one of Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries’ branches, from Woodland, Clark County and through the Columbia Gorge. Through the FVRL Foundation, our group connects with Friends from other branches — meeting together regularly to share ideas, celebrate successes, and support one another — because when one branch’s Friends group succeeds, the whole FVRL community benefits.
Friends of Stevenson and North Bonneville Community Libraries operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit under the umbrella of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation (Federal Tax ID 91-1456753), which handles our federal and state nonprofit filing and financial reporting on our behalf. This lets our all-volunteer board focus on serving our community rather than nonprofit paperwork. Donations to Friends of Stevenson and North Bonneville Community Libraries are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
